How to dye polyester / spandex matte jersey dress?

Hi I'm considering buying this polyester / spandex matte jersey dress online but they do not have my color and I was wondering if I could dye clothing, and how the dye. My other attempt to dye a cotton dress has been detrimental I wanted blue but it turned purple, even though I followed all the instructions a second. Help Please, much appreciated

No, this is not a good idea. It is not possible to dye a blend of polyester / spandex. Because polyester can be dyed only by doing boil for some time with disperse dye, while spandex should not be subjected to high heat at all, it is necessary to reach these two fibers before combining them into the fabric. Ordinary dyes, such as dyes, you can buy in craft stores, will not work at all on polyester. What kind of dye did you use to dye your cotton dress?
