Return baking dish clean and empty or with another treatment in it?
My husband and I went with my mother in laws for dinner evening. A month ago, she and her mother came to dinner and Brough, a cake in a baking dish that they have done and we left the flat and filling …. She asked that it be returned and I cleaned, but should I do something else in it to wear to dinner or simply leave the place clean and empty?
Good etiquette is back clean, but I would not be opposed to receiving something delicious back. It would be a pleasant surprise and attentive to my opinion. I think it would be appreciated by many people, but it is certainly not an expectation.
