If you already have the chance to attend one of these spiritual events, you will be surprised to see how this American Indian drum is played during the ceremony. Made from a broad base and covered with cow, deer or buffalo skins, pow-wow drum is played by eight or more men who beat the drum with mallets covered as they sing songs, often sung in the Native language. These singers are expected to know the qualifications required for the ceremony and the songs that are requested by the principal singer.
